The World’s Highest International School

The American Cooperative School (ACS) is located in the city of La Paz, Bolivia, over 3600 meters above sea level.

The school offers an English language, American educational program from pre-school through grade 12 for students of all nationalities.

Founded in 1955, ACS is a private, co-educational school with 400 students, offering college preparatory education enabling graduates to enter the best universities in the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America.

The Need For A Change

ERP implementation at american school bolivia Before Enterprise, ACS used a software package called Mentor - a small modular program, which was not a full-featured ERP system, and could not support the new challenges that ACS was ready to take or meet their requirements.

When ACS started the reorganisation process, their long-time advisor PricewaterhouseCoopers recommended them to replace their business application and go for an ERP solution in order to achieve the new goals - better integration and control over the organization and its businessprocess, providing at the same time more flexibility.

The HansaWorld Solution

Enterprise was chosen as it matched the school's needs in both reporting as well as data entry, providing the needed flexibility. The American Cooperative School now uses HansaWorld Enterprise for handling their finances, keeping track of student records, and organising internal communication and collaboration.

At first ACS rented the system. Later on they decided to become a direct customer of HansaWorld Bolivia. Throughout the implementation period, PricewaterhouseCoopers provided ERP consulting services and organised specialised trainings both on theoretical and practical aspects of using the system.



"The functionality provided by the Sales and Purchase Ledgers, Assets and Contracts modules was part of the reasons why we chose HansaWorld.", explained Walter Peña, Business Manager of ACS.

“Enterprise allows us to enter a large amount and different data, and in return provides us with detailed and complete reporting. We can now get trustworthy reports from the system with accurate information any time we need, and we can be sure that there won’t be any mistakes in our nominal ledger. The great variety of reports makes working with HansaWorld easy and simple,” Walter Peña added.

"Another important aspect was the safety that the system provides us with, regarding access rights and user groups. Now our people have the freedom of carrying out their specific tasks without the risk of damaging or losing sensitive data by accident,” he continued.
