Company profile
Västerås-based advertising agency Care of Haus opened in January 2006. Care of Haus is a pure advertising agency with customers such as Banverket, Solid Works, ABB, Thea Tandhälsa, EuroMaint and Västerås Stad. Today the company employs 23 persons, having grown by 6 people since 2006.
Situation
Like most agencies the creators at Care of Haus use job costing. Logging time and making invoices used to be complicated: instead of using the Job Costing module together with Enterprise's integration, previously worked hours were registered in a separate report, and the invoicing was being done in the Sales Ledger. Utilisation is a very important Key Performance Indicator for an organization like Care of Haus, and this indicator is now provided in a custom-made report.
When Care of Marknadsföring and Haus merged to become the agency Care of Haus two different business cultures met: "Companies working creatively want to look at and present the information in different ways" says David Holender, at HansaWorld.
The choice
Care of Haus chose to contiue with HansaWorld but the new company needed to get a 360-degree view on their business in order to estimate the profitability of their customers. The Job Costing module was implemented to make use of HansaWorld's integration with the Sales and Nominal Ledgers. To get control of reporting and analysing needs, investments were made in a reporting package that fully takes advantage of the integration with excel as result. "Companies working with Job Costing need to slice and dice their information", David tells us. "Being able to build a reporting package solves the problem, and instead of doing calculations after invoicing, one get results in real-time.

Benefits and results
Currently Care of Haus are developing a report that showes every Job Costing transaction made on one specific customer. The report is then exported into excel where pivot tables are used to slice and dice profitability figures from different angles. The resulting statistics show profitability at both customer and project levels.
"Job Costing is essential to us" says Marie, who is doing invoicing. She tells us about how Care of Haus invested in consulting to get better workflow in their business: "You make an invoice and it instantly creates a Nominal Ledger transaction. That part is just great, it saves so much time."
