Uponor Estonia OÜ

Uponor Estonia uses Enterprise by HansaWorld for accounting as well as for logistics and customer relationship management.

About the company
Uponor Estonia belongs to an international group producing plastic pipe systems (http://www.uponor.com). The company is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 2000. Uponor Estonia started in 1993, it now has 38 employees and the local annual turnover reaches 10 million Euros.

Taking on Enterprise
Uponor Estonia started to use HansaWorld in 1997 replacing an old non-graphical user interface accounting software. According to their managing director Kaupo Kruus, the old system had been morally depreciated and its development had been stopped.

"We needed a modern solution for an affordable price. As the company was smaller back then, we started with accounting and logistics only. Our needs grew together with the company. As HansaWorld is an integrated software comprising tens of modules, we added on functionality so that today it covers practically all our business activities," explains Mr Kruus.

Uponor uses HansaWorld's accounting, sales and purchase ledgers, cash book, logistics, production, assets and CRM functionality. The company has 16 concurrent user licences.

While planners and designers prepare quotations for customers and warehouse people register shipments, accountants can keep an eye on the nominal ledger transactions and salesmen can use the advantages of customer relationship management. 10-12 employees use the system concurrently at any time. To guarantee stability of the system, Uponor bought a Xeon 2.8 GHz, 120 GB HD, 1 GB memory dedicated server for HansaWorld in 2005.

Easy to use
According to Mr Kruus, one of the advantages of Enterprise is its easy logic and ease of use. "We have been using Hansa for almost ten years and new people have acquired the necessary skills quickly by just working with the system. HansaWorld is a fast developing business software, but they have never forgotten user friendliness," adds Mr Kruus.

Secure future
Uponor uses Enterprise version 4.1 and is considering a version upgrade. The most important thing, according to their manager, is to have a strong partner to rely on. "Technological improvements is just one side of the picture, it is also important to know that the system will be usable and up-to-date during the years to come. HansaWorld has offered us solutions and support since 1997 and I believe that this co-operation continues," concludes Mr Kruus.
