Exponant offer integrated ERP for mid-market retailers

[Johannesburg, 11 April 2008] - South Africa's mid-market retailers will be the major beneficiaries of a new partnership between enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company HansaWorld and Exponant, one of South Africa's leading IT solutions and consulting companies.

"Mid-market retailers want much more than just simple electronic point of sale systems," says Exponant sales manager Sonja Leoncini.

"They're looking for much wider functionality that will cover stock management and accounts as well as head office operations. HansaWorld is a unique, comprehensive solution that will cater for these needs." Leoncini adds that HansaWorld's compatibility with the National Credit Act makes compliance much easier for furniture retailers in particular.
The ease of custom development using the HansaWorld Application Language (HAL) was another reason for ExponÂȘnt's choice, says Leoncini. "We have a strong in-house development team so we're able to tailor each implementation precisely to customer requirements."

"The fact that HansaWorld is being constantly expanded and developed both globally and locally is a huge advantage," adds Leoncini.

"Traditional ERP solutions tend to buy in third party solutions when they need new functionality, and there are invariably some integration problems. All development at HansaWorld is done in-house based on the latest technology. HansaWorld supports multi-platform systems, which is increasingly important to our customers."

Leoncini says Exponant hopes to use HansaWorld's flexibility and broad industry application to expand into other new markets including distribution and wholesale segments: "HansaWorld is feature-rich as well as being very competitively priced for the mid market.
