Fundación Standard Bank
Fundación Standard Bank is a non-profit organisation that has been operating in Argentina for over 30 years. With its specific actions, this organisation contributes to the intellectual and spiritual development of individuals, in a context of mutual respect and exchange, based on its three essential pillars: Foreign Trade by the means of Training Programs, creation of Export Consortia and Culture and Social Commitment. It was established on May 15, 1973, when the Escuela Argentina de la Exportación (Argentine School of Export Activities) was opened. Its staff consists of 22 employees and 53 teachers.

Geographically, it covers the entire world. It offers and teaches long distance courses (e-learning) and it also has entered into cooperation agreements with various international entities and universities.

Due to the fact that they were dissatisfied with the software they were using in 2007, Fundación Standard Bank started to search for a business management solution to meet and adjust to the operations and goals they had at that time. They had analysed the various alternatives available on the software market and made up their mind after one year of their search. At the beginning of 2008, they chose Enterprise. The Technology Department performed a thorough survey and search.

“HansaWorld was the company that offered the solutions that best suited what we were looking for,” says Omar Sproviero, General Manager of Fundación Standard Bank.

In 2007, Fundación Standard Bank started to search for a business management system to meet and adjust to the operations and goals they needed at that time, which the software they were using failed to provide.

In 2007, the company analyzed the various alternatives available at the software market. The decision-making process to choose HansaWorld Enterprise as their business solution took one year.

At the end of 2007, this foundation was using a tailor-made system that failed to meet their needs. And at the beginning of 2008, they chose HansaWorld. “The Go-Live was quick and successful,” remembers General Manager Omar Sproviero.

When selecting the software, Fundación Standard Bank looked for a solution that provided increased information system security to fit its processes, that could save information about each student and that could integrate into the various departments of the institution.

The deployment started in the first weeks of 2008. Implementation was performed by HansaWorld professionals and various members of the Fundación team. Furthermore, the Technology Head of Fundación Standard Bank, Rodrigo Silvosa, and the General Manager, Omar Sproviero were involved in the process as well. Within 3 months the implementation was complete and Fundación Standard Bank began using Enterprise.

“The Go-Live was quick and successful,” remembers Omar Sproviero.

One of the goals was to integrate the Extension Department (Courses and Seminars) and the Management Software into the Billing and Collection process. Also the addition of the Courses module allowed them to enter and handle the courses and student information much more efficiently than before. Enrollment, billing and attendance tracking were now handled by one system and provided additional information to the accounting department and registar’s office.

“HansaWorld’s contributions included the concept of information system security that we were seeking, by means of values such as increased invulnerability, creation of controls and an appropriate segregation of system user and owner profiles,” explains Omar Sproviero.

Fundación Standard Bank continues to explore and evaluate new HansaWorld information system solutions for their consideration.
