One of our top priorities is to help our customers to run their business efficiently while using our products and services, therefore we believe we should share our thoughts on GDPR with you.
Relating to the new regulations which took effect on the 25th of May 2018, we will cover the topic in more detail in order to prepare all HansaWorld customers to understand the regulations and changes required. Below are thoughts and opinions of our CEO Karl Bohlin.
The Impact of GDPR
What do you need to do?
The GDPR states three clear items which needs to be done for companies to comply with the regulations:
Consider whether you need an Opt-in and Opt-out routines for data you are processing and storing
Have an external company review your data security
Name and train a Data Protection Officer

What does opt-in mean?
How do you opt-in?
In order for a natural person to Opt-In, it requires them to clearly state this and agree that their information can be used for processing.
Below are ways in which a natural person can Opt-In:
By Selecting a button clearly stating they accept
On a recorded phone call clearly saying they accept
Or by looking into a camera and stating they accept
We recommend that you supply all natural persons with a Unique Identifier, for example a customer code, and ask them to Opt-In on your website where the information relating to the Opt-In (Date and Time) can be stored.
If you supply telephonic service (for example a support line) we recommend that you state the following in the Welcome Message:
That the call will be recorded
The line is for customer service and therefor notes will be taken and stored based on the call
That the information received in the call might be used for automated data processing purposes
HansaWorld has developed a roadmap of development, to assist customers with the Opt-In and Opt-Out routines.
In the next couple of months all customers should be ready to Update to newer version. With each version being released, we will publish information relating to what changes has been done to facility our customers to comply with GDPR.
